Canyoneaustrate

Year of completion: 1987
Scope: Water feature design, from concept to construction documents, on-site supervision and commissioning

The word Cayoneaustrate comes from the contraction of cayon, water (eau) and stratum (strate). Based on his experience at the National Geographic Institute, the French sculptor Gerard Singer imagined a negative sculpture posing the problem of the composition of the solid and the void. The higher basin is overflowing onto the superposed strata and cascade in the thalweg.
