Year of completion: 2015
Scope: Water feature design, from concept to construction documents and on-site supervision and commissioning
The Miroir d’eau is a new landmark in Nantes. JML associated to Bruno Fortier and Hervé Devantoy has developed a parallelogram water scrim of 1.300 sqm, which is reflecting the remarkable Castle of the Ducs de Bretagne. A series of 240 jets create the drama and are forming an ever-changing choreography. With spurts choreographed to erupt at different heights, children love to play chase across the area as the jets shoot ever higher, before it all goes momentarily quiet – then the fountains begin to bubble all over again.
